Taking payments
You can take payments using the card reader or over the phone by typing in the card details. You can also charge your customers automatically for recurring invoices or customers can pay their invoices online using a payment link.
All payments using the card reader must be taken in the mobile app. All other payments can be taken in the mobile or web app.
Cash payments can be recorded in both the mobile and web app. To record a cash payment, simply select Cash from the pop-up any time you click Pay.
Quick payment
To take a quick payment in the mobile app, go to the Amount screen. Simply enter an amount, click Pay, select the payment method and follow the on-screen prompts. You can also apply a discount and add an optional VAT amount and customer.
To take a quick payment in the web app, go the the Take Payment screen. Enter the amount, select the payment type, enter the card details and click Pay.
Once you have taken the payment, you can print or send a receipt if required.
Basket payment
You can add an unlimited amount of products and services to your basket from the Catalogue screen in the mobile app. When you're ready to take payment, click on the basket icon, check the contents and click Pay. Then select the payment method and follow the on-screen prompts. You can also add an additional one-off amount, apply a discount to all items in the basket and add an optional VAT amount and customer.
You can also create a basket and take payment in the web app. Go the the Catalogue screen to add products and services to your basket and click Pay when you're ready to take payment.
Once you have taken the payment, you can print or send a receipt if required.
Invoice payment
You take payment for an invoice from the Invoices screen in the mobile app. Simply select an invoice and click Pay. Then select the payment method and follow the on-screen prompts.
If you have the Jobs module, you can also select and take payment for any invoice attached to a job.
If you are charging your customer automatically for recurring invoices, you should enter their payment details when you create an invoice. You can also use the secure card scanner in the mobile app to save time.
If your customer pays an invoice online using a payment link, you will receive a notification when they have made payment, or if they fail to pay on-time.
Once a payment for an invoice has been made, either in full or partial, your customer will automatically receive an updated invoice by email.
